Gravina di Riggio is a natural casket of inestimable wealth and value, for the amount and variety of vegetable and animal kinds , over that for the irresistible beauties of the caves that they prop it, set on more levels. Probably, one of the particularities more fascinating of Gravina di Riggio is the presence of the only one natural waterfall in Apulia, clearly visible only in particular seasons, since it is fed by rainwater. After a leap of around 15 metres it feeds so-called ‘Caggione’, an underlying ditch that has served for a long time as a water reserve, when the rocky village was inhabited by the monks. In turn, ‘Caggione’ feeds a brook, which makes the gravina a damp place with a worthy ecosystem. In our itinerary, we are going to visit the abandoned cave of ‘Fantiano’, that is nowadays a magnificent scenario of events. In the end, we are going to conclude the day with a visit of one of the most ancient ceramic workshop, where the craftsman ‘Figulino’ will be our guide, showing us the rocky church (set inside the workshop) and a hanging garden.
